The Institute for Health Research and Policy at the University of Illinois at Chicago has a full-time position available for a Visiting Research Specialist to work on a multi-year research project that will examine the impact of policies, programs and other community environmental factors, such as price, availability and access, advertising and promotion, the built environment, and the compositional, resource and organizational characteristics of schools on youth eating and physical activity behaviors and obesity.  JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates must be well-prepared to teach core courses on quantitative methods in our master’s program, to advise our doctoral students on research design issues, and to teach specialized courses in her or his area of substantive expertise. We will consider applicants with substantive expertise in any area of public policy, but will take a particular interest in those who focus on health policy, media and communications, or one of the established areas of concentration in our doctoral program. Applicants are expected to have an earned doctorate prior to employment and must demonstrate a commitment to scholarly research. Applications should also convey evidence of success in one or more of the following areas: scholarly publication, teaching at the professional or graduate levels, external research funding and/or non- academic professional experience relevant to the field of the search.

Research-track Opening in Pharmacogenomics-related Translational Research and Health Policy.

The Institute for Pharmacogenomics and Individualized Therapy at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill invites applications for a full-time research-track position (Research Associate or  Research Full Professor) in the area of pharmacogenomics-related translational research and health policy.  The successful candidate will develop and maintain strong relationships with interdisciplinary translational research teams, as well as mentor graduate students and postdoctoral fellows and contribute to the Institute’s mission to employ an interdisciplinary approach to tailor therapies and enable the delivery of individualized medical practice.  This position is designed to support the conduct of multidisciplinary research on clinical and policy issues that are critical to the appropriate translation of pharmacogenomic technologies into clinical practice. The primary focus of this position is to provide support for AMA/Specialty Society Relative Value Update (RUC) Committee activities. In addition, the individual will support CPT Editorial Panel activities including management of the review process for CPT proposals; assist in monitoring and analyzing economic policy issues, such as Medicare coding and reimbursement, federal and local regulations related to spine care and activities of the Society that focus on the economics of managing a physician practice, reimbursement, managed care and similar issues.
